Below are a few links to the sites of some of the teachers, guides, and authors who I feel have played a particularly important role in my life. These people belong to different traditions, sometimes to none of the “official” modern day streams. Some I know personally, others only through their teachings and books, yet I do feel deep love and gratitude to all. With no hesitation I recommend any of them to all the “seekers,” but even more so to anyone aspiring to become a “finder.”
Dervish Healing Order
The Dervish Healing Order is a service order dedicating its work to the physical, mental, and spiritual health of the Sufi mureeds, as well as of all those who require help. It has as its main focus the performance of the Absent Healing Ritual that was created in the beginning of the last century under the guidance of the Sufi Hazrat Inayat Khan. This order is under the direction of Murshid Hakim Saul Barodofsky.
Shaykh Fadhlalla Haeri
Shaykh Fadhlalla is an illuminated Sufi master with a kindest heart, a great sense of humour, and a truly universal approach to teaching. He is a prolific author of books, articles and podcasts. He presently lives and works in South Africa.
Abwoon
To discover what Jesus really meant by learning what he said in Aramaic – the language he spoke – visit the site of Neil Douglas Klotz (Saadi Shakur Chisti.) Neil is an author of books on Sufi, Christian and Hebrew traditions, as well as a leader of Sufi and Aramaic workshops.
Joe and Guin Miller

The Golden Sufi Center
Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee has for several decades served as a successor of Irina Tweedie in the Indian branch of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order, the Naqshbandiyya-Mujaddidiyya lineage. He is the author of multiple books; videos of his teachings are also widely available. Visit them for depth, kindness and subtlety. The lineage is now under the stewardship of Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee.
Adyashanti
Adyashanti is an American-born spiritual teacher, who spent many years studying in the zen-buddhist tradition and is now teaching in his own style and from his own depth of enlightnement. He is an author of many books, and his site has a wonderful collection of teachings, video and audio. I absolutely wholeheartedly recommend any of them.
Peter Kingsley
It is very difficult for me to find words that are true and that would make sense if you are unfamiliar with Peter Kingsley’s work, which regards the mystical roots of our western civilisation. Someone said that there is life before reading Mr.Kingsley’s books – and I would add listening to his talks – and there is life after, and that only just begins to describe what one is getting oneself into here. You can listen to Adyashanti’s podcast where he talks with Peter Kingsley here.
I find myself handling Mr.Kingsley’s books as alive beings, not things – with great deference. It is a great rarity for an author to be able to induce a change in the reader by taking them on a journey by the being of the words, not simply by their accepted meaning.
